Our story
Georgetown Ventures is a student-run startup accelerator at Georgetown University, offering a comprehensive 10-week program designed to scale innovative ideas into successful ventures. Our tight-knit community provides startups of all stages with essential resources and a collaborative environment.
Since our inception in 2017, we have helped over 110 founders strengthen their businesses, gain traction, and collectively raise more than $45 million in funding. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we provide mentorship and support at no cost.
The Timeline
2017
The first cohort
A handful of Georgetown students decide that founders on campus deserve real operators, not just advice. Georgetown Ventures is born.
2019
Three divisions
Strategy, Creative, and Tech formalize, giving every startup a full team for ten weeks at no cost.
2021
501(c)(3)
GV incorporates as a nonprofit, committing permanently to free, high-caliber support for early-stage founders.
2023
Demo Day grows up
Lohrfink Auditorium fills. Pitches are recorded, streamed, and watched by investors far beyond D.C.
2025
110+ founders
Alumni companies collectively raise more than $45 million, with 70+ student consultants powering 8–10 startups per semester.
Today
Beyond the Hilltop
Eight to ten startups each semester, supported by student teams from every school at Georgetown.
